CITIZENSHIP MEMORANDUM R.A. 9225
RULES GOVERNING PHILIPPINE CITIZENSHIP UNDER REPUBLIC ACT (R.A.)
NO. 9225 AND ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER (A.O.) NO. 91, SERIES OF 2004. WHEREAS,
R.A. No. 9225 declares that natural-born citizens of the Philippines
who become citizens of another country shall be deemed not to have
lost their Philippine citizenship under conditions provided therein;

Bagong Bayani Award 2005
An award that recognize the Overseas Filipino Workers group or individuals
who contributed with the development of our economy and the country's
well being.
But I hope they can give an OFW more than this such as quality assistance
when someone is in trouble not by discouraging the poor OFW when he/she
got complains against the employer.
Overseas
Employment Certificate (OEC) / Balik Mangagawa
To obtain by Overseas Filipino Workers who went back for a short
vacation in Philippines and have to leave for overseas work again.
This is also for an OFW to be exempted paying Airport tax. You can
also obtain this from Philippine
Embassies Abroad before travelling back in for a short vacation.
The fee is higher but if you don't want to be disturbed while on holiday,
obtaining this from the embassy overseas will bring you more ease
and comfort. But I'm glad that obtaining OEC
in EDSA at this time is not so troublesome, you'll finished within
one hour to two hours. They have some big fans and airconditioners
plus a TV set so that you'll not be bored while waiting for the release
of your OEC, OWWA certificate and Ecard.
OFW
E-Card / VISA Electron Card
The all in one identification card for OFWs, can be used as your
authenticated ID, ATM and a charge card. Collect this after paying
your OEC and OWWA membership
in POEA Building EDSA. This can be used on your important government
transactions such as obtaining OEC, claiming OWWA
Benefits, Passport Application, Pag-Ibig
Loan and others.
Philippine
Travel Tax Information
Travel tax information for balikbayans, filipino citizens, aliens
and Overseas Filipino Workers. Submit required documents to avail
of standard reduced rate, privileged reduced rate and travel tax exemption.
Travel tax exemption often applies to certain individuals only such
as visitor/balikbayan who will stay in Philippines in less than a
year, some government workers, journalist and other.
Reduced
Travel Tax for Overseas Filipino Workers Dependants
Apply for a Reduced Travel Tax when your dependants needs to travel
abroad. You have to obtain this before you need to collect your Plane
Ticket from your local ticket agency or else you're going to pay for
the full amount. Actually this Travel Tax went to Department Of Tourism
and Philippine Tourism Authority, just visit their website for more
information. The current full amount of Tax for OFW beneficiary is
P810 for children, the PTA charged an about P200, so you'll save P610.
Some OFWs are not willing to go to Tourism to avail the discount because
of traffic, loss of energy travelling, hot weather or it's far from
their home province. But for me, because I have two children, I'm
always claiming this from Tourism to avail this benefits.
Overseas
Filipino Workers Welfare Authority (OWWA) Benefits
Skills Development/Scholarship Program,
Assistance, Medical and Life Insurance Benefits. This is why you've
paid for Medicare and OWWA Membership upon obtaining your OEC. Renewal
of OWWA Medicare/Membership is every year. You can use this if you
were hospitalized, injured, delivered baby, accident and death. You
can also obtain membership or claim your benefits in Philippine Embassies
abroad by inquiring directly to the assigned OWWA Admin officer. Please
remember to claim our benefits from OWWA, so that it will prevent
misuse of funds.
IMPLEMENTING
RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING BENEFITS OF OWWA
MEMBERS
New rules that pertains the scholarship and free training benefits
that an OFW should know about. Actually not many of the OFW knows
about this, all they know is that they just paid for the OWWA membership
to be able to left in the country. They always say that it's only
for the government, actually it is also for the OFW...So I hope every
OFW knows this so that we can avail this for each one of us, and this
is to prevent misuse of funds....
Philippine
/ Filipino Passport Application
Apply for New Passport or Renewal of Passport within the country
or at your Philippine Embassies station overseas. DFA has a satellite
offices where persons from provinces doesn't need to go to DFA Main
for application.
Department
of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Travel Clearance
Your minor dependants who needs to travel with you, with your wife
or with your relatives or friends but not when both of you (Parents)
are present, should acquire this from DSWD to prevent Child Trafficking.
If one parent is present, just obtain a Parental Travel Permit form.
Remember to bring your payment at this time, they charged P300 and
make sure you'll come before 6:30 as about 9 in the morning, there
are no more numbers for you so you'll need to come back again on the
next day.

of Support and Consent to Travel
Sample statement of Affidavit of Support and Consent to travel. This
is the document needs by an OFW sponsor in order to process his family's
travel papers in Philippines such as the DSWD Travel Clearance, Passport,
Visa and at the immigration checkpoint in NAIA airport.

- Ibig Fund Overseas Program for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs)
Not really required to obtain this by OFW but this is one of the
best way where you can save your money from abroad. You have a chance
to avail HOUSING and Multi Purpose Loan and it is the lowest interest
charge in the country. We should all know how to save for our future
as not all the time, we can work overseas and earn big.
Social
Security System Flexi-Fund for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs)
Multi Purpose Investment, you can withdraw your savings at anytime.
Can be your pension plan and Insurance too. You can also pay/continue
your contribution, just don't say that someday it is just a little
amount. Remember also that someday, you have no other person to buy
meals other than yourself or your wife. Pension is for you so that
if your children are now big and have their own family too, you have
your own money as well and will not ask from your children all the
time.
